On July 29, 2024, an awareness session and mass tree plantation drive were
held at the Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) in Daulatabad, Gurugram. This
initiative sought to involve teachers and students in understanding the significance of
environmental conservation and the advantages of planting native trees. During the event, a total
of 300 native trees were successfully planted on the school premises. These trees were carefully
selected to thrive in the local ecosystem, promoting biodiversity and enhancing the green cover
in the area. To ensure the longevity and health of the newly planted trees, protective measures
such as tree guards and fencing were installed around them. This not only safeguards the saplings
from potential damage but also educates the community about responsible tree care.
The session also included informative discussions on the role of trees in combating climate
change, improving air quality, and providing habitat for local wildlife. Participants were
encouraged to take an active role in nurturing the trees and understanding their importance in
promoting a sustainable environment. This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering
environmental awareness and community involvement in the preservation of natural resources.
